




It never ceases to amaze me the things photographers do to get the right picture of livestock.
Scottish Farmer photographer John Fraser is a master, but even he occasionally gets left holding the subject while pals are brought out to ensure a calming influence and to get the animal to stand correctly. You may appreciate these.
The subjects are a Blackface ram lamb (south type) and an old Blackie ewe (north type).
John tells me regularly there is nothing for photographers in the Guild which I would have to admit is correct as we no longer have a photographic competition. There are, however, moves afoot to address this situation. Council is certainly detemined to resolve it.
Then again competitions are not the be all and end all.... fellowship is best. Hope you enjoy JF .. I'll buy you a large one at somewhere appropriate.
The pictures were taken at Alyth Show. And for those of you who don't know where that is .. all I will say is Perthshire.
