Well apart from eating, drinking and meeting colleagues from around the globe, we visited farms and farmers' markets, a sake brewery, a plant where they make the paste for miso soup, had lots of lunches attended by the local Mayor and various other dignatories. We also saw the world's first GPS controlled rice planter and travelled on the bullet train. We also all slept in a communal Japanese inn, although not all took part in the communal bath.
