Direct Debit at last

I dread to think how much time your council has spent over the last 12 months attempting to get a Direct Debit regime in place.

Hundreds of hours, possibly weeks, have been lost in attempting to get this regime in place.

The good news is that we appear at last to be on verge of getting. We on Friday received our Direct Debit authorisation, and are tomorrow or Tuesday expected to get final bank clearance – three months late.

Our efforts for an earlier introduction have been thwarted by forms getting lost, and bureaucracy.

So what does this mean for members? Well you should this week receive a letter from the treasurer seeking your urgent assistance and for you to immediately return the forms to him.

I do hope you will be able to help us. I realise this is not the best of times to ask you to fill out forms, but for the good of the Guild this change has to happen, as it means we can in future years save needless time being spent by council chasing members to pay their subs.

We have this year wasted too much time on chasing members for payment. This new regime brings to an end a system that was caught in the past.

Direct Debits means we go forward stronger and healthier.
